Marketing: In 1987, we couldn’t find anyone to represent
one of our own programs with the same enthusiasm we felt for it, so Murray
Street Productions got into the marketing business for radio. We worked
with stations to build a carriage list that our underwriters could be
sure of, and with our producers to make our programs more useful to stations.
Other independents heard about our work and soon we were introducing such
programs as Sounds of Science,
Afropop
and Selected Shorts
to public radio.
